Molding
A lonely stump in a crowded wood stands
Alone and different it looks so bland
So dark and cold because it receives no sun
It feels so strange and so very alone
Nobody stops to take a look at it since it was cut
The only friends it has are all the trees' rubble
Covered and cold a wood carver finds it
He pulls it out and takes hike with it
Back at the wood shop, the carver makes plans
The stump is now warm in the hands of this man
He takes the chisel ti chip away the badness
Leaving to show an inside of cleanness
In the carver's hands it begins to take form
Slowly and slightly it is chipped to the core
As it takes form, it brightens its shape
From the very bottom to the top of its nape
The stump feels like putty in the carver's hands
Molding and chipping it feels so glad
No longer to be a dump for anyone else
But a beautiful rocker for a baby to sit
Never to be put down again for what it was
For now from the carver it has class
