Music
Songs that have been sung a thousand times
In and out with their captivating rhymes
Ever-present melodies hold me hostage
Never wanting them to assuage
In my mind I play them again and again
Sometimes like they are my only friend
They haunt my dreams, fill my waking thoughts
Understanding is what I thought I sought
Deep within I feel the musical rapture
The lilting and booming notes I want to capture
My life without them has no meaning
They fill my very being
