Whispers
A whisper among the shouts
Erasing all my doubts
I should not have been able to hear
I should have shirked from fear
Listening intently through the pain
Of the silent whisper in the rain
Understand as I might
Removed from before my sight
It was not meant to be
The words were not for me
Confused and bewildered by it all
Why was I able to hear the call?
If not for me, then who?
Not just one, but two
Attuned to a world I've never seen
All too often it feels like a dream
