Lost and alone in the deep dark forest
Wating for the sun to penetrate
With its opulescence, the rays seep through slowly
Seeing them one by one with all of their glory
Even though lost and alone I stand small
Amidst the quietness I try to call
I reach for help and get none in return
I cry, for abandonment is now my concern
Left to find my way out by my lonesome
Soon, those blinding rays are magically gone
So, here I am again, lost and alone in the dark
I try and climb a tree with hopes to find a lark
Hoping that little bird will help me find a way
Out of the darkness and gloom that color me grey
I find a compass beside a rotten, condemned tree
Having that feeling it was left just for me
Now I can have hope of finding my way out
Without the sun, because of all the clouds
I look down at that old machine in my hands
It spins around and around as fast as it can
Tattered and bruised, it points the way ever so slowly
Showing me the way out of the dark and lonely
My heart starts to beat heavily as I walk through
Not knowing where the compass will lead me to
I keep going on, pushing myself to the brink
Twisting and climbing through the dark and the dank
