Greatness
You pass by me so quick
I just can't believe it
I take another look
And there you stood
I can't control my thoughts
My stomach is turned in knots
I come back and stand close by
I cough and you look my way
My tongue had a mind of its own
I just said hello and nothing more
I look at your signature face
Nothing on you is out of place
I want to shake your hand
Thank you for your band
But I can't move a single inch
I try and give myself a pinch
I continue to look at you
Paying no attention to the passers-through
I take one hard look before you walk away
I see your goatee is not trimmed today
You begin to walk away from me
Not realizing what this means
I have stood in the shadow of greatness
And you will never know my humbleness
